Terry E. Carrilio, Ph.D., LCSW is the Director of the Social Policy Institute. Dr. Carrilio has over 35 years of experience in direct clinical work, program development, and evaluation with vulnerable populations. She is currently a faculty member at the San Diego State University School of Social Work and an Adjunct at the University’s Center for Latin American Studies. Dr. Carrilio served as the Co Principal Investigator of the Healthy Families San Diego Clinical Trial, and developed the California Safe and Healthy Families Program. She served as the evaluator for the 17-site answers Benefitting Children program and has written extensively on clinical case management, program implementation, and information systems. Dr. Carrilio has also worked with the Mexican communities of La Paz and Loreto to begin identifying the needs of vulnerable families for the purposes of developing prevention programs for vulnerable families. Dr. Carrilio has written a book: Home Visiting Strategies: A Case Management Guide for Caregivers to be published by the University of South Carolina Press in the summer of 2007. Email:
